Bitrix Site Manager is Empowered with Powerful Media Player
08/15/2008
Bitrix introduces a powerful Media Player, enabling customers to embed an unlimited number of video streams into their Web sites. Bitrix Site Manager is a Web content management system (CMS) that provides stable functionality and security, and promotes cost-effective growth of clients’ Internet projects.
Intending to comply with Web 2.0 standards, Bitrix enriched Bitrix Site Manager with an impressive social networking tool – Media Player. The Media Player enables the user to create portals similar to YouTube, Google Video, MySpace, Metacafe, and other video sharing sites.
“Media content is the key feature of most up-to-date Web sites catching users’ attention. Adding live content is a must-have component of any online project. Our Media Player brings this to Bitrix Site Manager-powered sites,” said Sergey Rizhikov, CEO of Bitrix, Inc.
With the Media Player, it is easy to add video and audio streams to a Web site on the fly, including site pages and blog posts. The Media Player uses leading-edge Silverlight and Flash technologies to support playback of all popular formats: FLV, MP3, MP4, JPG, GIF, AAC, PNG, WMV, WMA, and various playlist formats. The particular technology is chosen automatically depending on the media content type, which makes the process simple for non-tech users using a basic WYSIWYG editor.
The Media Player makes sharing video easy: users can simply enter the direct URL to the video file, for instance from YouTube, and this video will be run in the player. To protect copyrights it is also possible to put a watermark layer over the selected video clip. Users can also assign customized skins to the player, which creates a distinct, brandable look.
The Media Player is included in all Bitrix Site Manager editions, so users with an active update subscription period can update their systems and enjoy the results of this brand new product feature.
